A “points deduction” is the deduction of league points from Manchester City’s points total for any current or future season of the Premier League, whether applied to a single season or across multiple seasons. 

The Contract resolves on the official announcement of the imposition of the sanction, not on its anticipation or on the date the sanction takes effect. A sanction is announced when the English Premier League or Manchester City first publicly states, in an official statement, news release, or published decision of an independent Commission or Appeal Board, that the sanction has been imposed on Manchester City.
