# Will another state ban or pause police use of Flock cameras? — Not counting Texas, Florida or Rhode Island

Live · $1,895 traded · listed on Kalshi

## About

A qualifying action is enacted legislation, an executive order, a court order applying statewide, or a binding directive from a state official or agency with statewide authority, that prohibits, suspends or pauses the installation or operation of Flock Safety or other automated license plate reader cameras by law enforcement.

Any action by Texas, Florida or Rhode Island does not count, including further or expanded action by those states.

The following count:

A statewide ban or moratorium on new law enforcement ALPR installations
A statewide order pausing or suspending operation of cameras already installed
A ban or pause that covers only state roads or other state-owned property, or only state agencies
A binding directive from a state official with statewide authority, even where it reaches state agencies such as the state police in the first instance
A measure with a delayed effective date, so long as the action itself is taken before the market's date

The following do NOT count:

Action by a city, county, school district or any other political subdivision rather than the state
Conditions on use rather than a prohibition, suspension or pause, including purpose limits, data retention limits, warrant requirements, audit requirements and restrictions on data sharing
A freeze or cut in state funding that does not itself prohibit or pause installation or operation of the cameras
A non-binding request, recommendation or urging that a locality is free to disregard
A review, study or task force that has not itself imposed a ban, suspension or pause
A law enforcement agency's own decision to stop using cameras where the state has not required it
Anything that happened before Issuance

Only reporting from a Source Agency qualifies for the purposes of this market. Reports that merely reference prior publications (from before Issuance) do not qualify. Republishing of content originally produced by other sources (e.g., wire services) only qualifies if the content is hosted on the outlet's official platform and the outlet is clearly identified as the publishing entity.
