Description from Kalshi. A cross-platform summary is generated once this event is matched across platforms.
The Speaker presenting or announcing a proposal for Prime Minister, a party leader being tasked with exploring a government, an announced agreement between parties, a Riksdag vote that rejects the Speaker's proposal, and the continued operation of the outgoing caretaker government do NOT qualify. A proposal is approved unless more than half of the Riksdag's members (at least 175 of 349) vote against it. A proposal approved with more members voting no than yes qualifies. Approval of a proposal naming any person qualifies, including outgoing Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. Approval by a Riksdag chosen in an extraordinary election qualifies. The approving vote itself counts; the later change of government at the Council of State is not required. If the Riksdag has not approved a Prime Minister before a market's date, that market resolves to No.
