If a new U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve release announcement is confirmed by any of the Source Agencies after Issuance and before Jan 1, 2027, then the market resolves to Yes. A qualifying announcement must commit to releasing additional SPR crude oil beyond quantities publicly announced before this market opened. Sales and exchanges qualify. Solicitations, contract awards, or deliveries implementing previously announced quantities do not qualify. Proposals, statements considering a release, and purchases to replenish the SPR are excluded. Physical delivery need not occur before the deadline. Both the announcement and confirmation by a Source Agency must occur before January 1, 2027.
