If Canada's countertariffs on United States steel, dairy and appliances have taken effect after Issuance and before Sep 9, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes. Only reporting from the Department of Finance Canada or the Canada Gazette qualifies for the purposes of this market. Reports that merely reference prior publications (from before Issuance) do not qualify. Republishing of content originally produced by other sources (e.g., wire services) only qualifies if the content is hosted on the outlet's official platform and the outlet is clearly identified as the publishing entity. The countertariffs have taken effect when they are legally in force and being applied to imports, as recorded by the Department of Finance Canada or the Canada Gazette. An announcement, a statement of intent, or an order that is published but not yet in force does NOT count If the countertariffs take effect on some of the announced goods but not others, that counts, provided tariffs are in force on at least steel, dairy and appliances If the measures are delayed, suspended or withdrawn so that nothing is in force before Sep 9, 2026, this market resolves NO
