1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. Your name and email address, and — if you register with a password — a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Social sign-in information. If you sign in with Google, GitHub, X, or Discord, we receive basic profile information from that provider (see Section 3). We do not receive or store your password for those accounts.
• Preferences. Settings such as your theme, language, and your marketing- and settlement-email opt-in choices.
• Content you create. Watchlists, price alerts, notes, custom analyses, and similar data you add to the Service.
• Trading and portfolio data. Positions and trades you record in your portfolio, and the activity in your play-money "paper trading" account. Paper trading uses simulated funds with no monetary value.
• Payment information. If you purchase a premium subscription, payment is processed on-chain via Bitcoin / Lightning through our payment processor (BTCPay). We record your subscription status and invoices; we do not collect or store card numbers.
• Automatically collected data. IP address, browser/device information, and usage data, collected for security, rate limiting, and to operate the Service. See Section 6 on cookies.

2. How we use information

• To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To send transactional messages (e.g. account, settlement, and security notices) and — only if you opt in — marketing and digest emails. You can opt out at any time.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf — for example hosting, email delivery, and payment processing — under obligations of confidentiality and only as needed to provide the Service.
• Authorities where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of BetCrypto and its users.
• A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will honor the commitments in this Policy.

5. Third-party platforms and links

The Service aggregates publicly available data from third-party prediction-market platforms and links out to them (sometimes via referral links). Those platforms are operated independently and have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices; review their policies before using them.

6. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme, language, and sidebar state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser, though disabling essential cookies may break parts of the Service.

7. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter only as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete the personal data associated with it from our production systems, subject to those limited legal-retention exceptions.

8. Your rights and choices

• Access and correction. You can view and update your name and email in your account settings.
• Deletion. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile, which removes your data as described in Section 7. You may also email us to request deletion.
• Marketing opt-out. You can turn off marketing and digest emails in your settings or via the unsubscribe link in any such email.
• Revoking social access. You can disconnect BetCrypto from your Google (or other provider) account at any time in that provider's security settings.

The data controller responsible for your personal data is BC Data Ltd., Dublin, Ireland. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, or objection — under laws like the EU/UK GDPR or the CCPA. Contact us to exercise them. If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; in Ireland this is the Data Protection Commission.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including password hashing, encryption in transit, and optional two-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The Service is intended for adults (18 years or older) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International users

We are based in Ireland and may process and store information there and in other countries, including via our service providers. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
